The Pioneer High School faculty and Miss Alexandria Disch hosted a party at the home economics cottage to honor Miss Georgia Payne Durham a four year faculty member who will marry J O Pinkston of Lake Providence June 6. In Natchez Miss weir Berdon named manager of the Natchez Swift and Company branch succeeding Marshall Gregory who moves to Lake Charles.

Jonesboro plans for a Civilian Conservation Corps soil erosion camp have been completed and sent to Fourth Corps authorities in Atlanta. Construction will begin soon on 18 buildings to house the CCC unit. H M Mimms of Minden, an official with the federal soil erosion service, visited Jonesboro to arrange camp location and construction.
