In Baton Rouge on June 4 the Louisiana Senate rejected House amendments to the Constitutional Convention bill by 1 to 18, sending it to a conference committee. It also sent Fontenot antitrust bills with clerical-error amendments to third reading, with expectations of passage, while parties debated liquor shipment amendments potentially weakening the liquor bill.
The wets and drys compromise on Sippl measure and adjournment extends to Monday night with likely final adjournment by Friday or Saturday. Monroe school issues to be announced later as Supt.
