Nasser Page Warns Arab States on Jordan River Diversions
Cairo based Al Ahram quoted that the United Arab Republic will deploy deterent powers against Israel if the conflict widens while Arab allies diverting Jordan River waters from Israel cannot expect UAR military aid. Syria accused Nasser of abandoning defense of anti Israel diversions. Diversions are planned in Syria Jordan and Lebanon under a unified command led by the UAR. Israel has twice shelled a Syrian diversion site without unified response.
