Infant Perishes in Blazing Truck in Oak Grove
Oak Grove La June 1 James Edgar Anders six month old son of Mr and Mrs R C Anders burned to death when left in the rear of a pickup truck that ignited from an undetermined cause. His brother R C Andes Jr escaped with minor burns. Parents left children in truck while they worked in a nearby field. Survived by maternal grandmother Mrs Kate Leonard and paternal grandmother Mrs Adie Anders. Funeral set for 10 am Tuesday at Kilbourne Cemetery with Rev Kamphouse officiating. Interment by Catron Gay Funeral Home.

Three Uninjured Auto Accidents Reported Around Monroe
State police logged three weekend automobile accidents in the Monroe area with no injuries. A 1946 GMC truck driven by Jeff Spince collided with a car driven by Charles Tasmusson on Highway 165 near Monroe, both cars sustaining minor damage. Cecil Mattison’s car rear ended a pulpwood truck on Bastrop Highway north of Monroe, front of the car badly damaged and the truck lightly damaged. James Meeks’ car struck the rear of a Southern Trailways bus on Highway 80 west of West Monroe. the bus, driven by John Walker, was slightly damaged and Meeks’ car extensively damaged.
