Labor Bloc Forces New Elections In Britain
The labor bloc pushes Britain toward elections likely in autumn as Liberals and David Lloyd George may deny a liberal labor alliance. Baldwin’s minority would need liberal support to govern, with a fragile majority possible. Ramsay MacDonald could lead a government if sufficiently backed by Liberals, while 615 seats reported show Labour 288, Conservatives 250, Liberals 53, independents 4, nationalists 3. A notable feature is the large Conservative vote compared to the others.
