Labor chiefs to meet on plans for rail wage cuts
In Cincinnati Edward Fitzgerald announced sixteen railroad union chiefs will convene next Tuesday to discuss measures affecting railroad workers. About forty leaders expected. In Chicago the railroad labor board prepared another $50,000,000 wage cut for 400,000 shopcrafts employees following a prior 50 million reduction for 400,000 maintenance of way workers. The comprehensive cuts target blacksmiths machinists boiler workers electric workers carmen and helpers nationwide.

Ouachita Roof Garden to Open June 6 in Monroe
The Ouachita Roof Garden near Monroe is nearly finished and set to open Tuesday June 6 at 8 oclock pm. The 10000 square foot cedar dance floor will seat tables along the sides with a five piece orchestra providing music. The venue will operate 8 pm to midnight on weekdays and 6 to 10 pm on Sundays and will host teas receptions and bridge parties while limiting attendance to 400. The State Bar Association will hold its convention June 9 and 10, closing the garden to the public. Mayor Bernstein and T E Flournoy will speak opening night.

Levee Caves In Threatens Mississippis Station Plan
Five hundred men work along a mud levee at Station plantation on the west bank nine miles below Algiers La. The levee began to cave in yesterday and engineers say if it holds for 48 hours more there will be no further danger of a crevasse.

Southwest Pulp and Paper Company Organized for Monroe Mill
The Southwest Pulp and Paper Company, chartered under Delaware law with 1 000 000 in eight percent preferred and 1 500 000 in common stock, plans a large pulp and paper mill 3.5 miles south of Monroe.
