Tragic Death of Laux Boy Reported in Basement Discovery
Police say Robert Laux admitted placing four year old Whitey in a gunny sack and on a pile of boxes after a rope became snagged on a rafter during an apparent hanging. Whitey’s body was found in the basement by Edith Munday after a night-long search. The Laux and Munday families live in the same building at 636 West 47th Place. Both boys attended a school for truants and delinquents. Coroner Dr. Jerry J. Kearns released findings after examination.
