Japanese air force unleashed a raid on Chungking with nearly 100 planes causing heavy damage to Chinese military targets. The Nanking regime urged Chinese surrender while Wen Teung Yeo, head of the reformed government of China, issued a peace appeal to nine provinces under resistance.
