Boulder Hit By Hurricane Force Winds And Deadly Crash
A Boulder Colorado storm of hurricane force winds over 125 mph tore through the city Tuesday night leaving mangled poles downed lines and shattered homes. James A Madden 28 of Greeley died when a pickup camper blew off Interstate 25 and rolled over twice. Police reported roofs ripped from more than a dozen homes and many trees stripped. Eight private single engine aircraft were destroyed at Boulder airport and a prairie fire burned five miles near the field. The city lost power for hours as poles and lines snapped and the main avenue was blocked. National Weather Service officials said gusts exceeded 125 mph as wind instruments failed to register further. Traffic restrictions were imposed and warnings extended from the Dakotas to Wisconsin and western New York due to blowing snow and reduced visibility.

Explosion at Broadview plant leaves two dead
An industrial plant explosion at Chase Products Co. in Broadview near Chicago killed at least two workers and injured more than 30. Injured were sent to Melrose Park La Grange and Hines hospitals. About 150 employees worked at the insecticide and chemical products factory. The blast happened around 8 am as workers arrived.
