Tax Form Changes For 1976 Do Not Require Multiplication
The IRS will mail 83 million federal income tax forms after Christmas with pastel pink and baby blue colors. The short form will have about 15 lines and needs only addition and subtraction, cutting paperwork by about 70 million hours and 10 percent from last year. The long form now flows front to back for easier calculation with final tax due or refund shown at the bottom of the back page.

One Vehicle Wreck Kills Area Youth
DARNELL 17 year old West Carroll Parish youth died shortly after arrival at St Francis Medical Center Monroe following a one vehicle crash on Hart Road north of Epps. Randy Hale 17 was a passenger in a 1973 Chevrolet pickup driven by Ricky Harris 19 of Darnell when the truck left the road hit a culvert flipped throwing occupants. The truck traveled 160 feet total. Harris treated and released at Delhi Clinic. Hale died at St Francis. Harris charged with driving under the influence and negligent homicide. in West Carroll Parish Jail.
