Four more dead removed from Zero mine explosion
In Harlan Kentucky on December 10 rescue teams recovered four additional bodies from the Zero mine at Yancey bringing the death toll to 23 from the blast that swept the mine yesterday. Rescue leaders said all victims may have been accounted for as carbon monoxide gas and a windy blast were blamed. The mine operated by Harlan Fuel company is located a mile and a half from the entrance with workers including white and Black miners.

Dog Bark Foils Abduction Plot At Suburban Home
