Three Victims Tell Of Floggings After Silence
J A Floyd his 19 year old daughter Eddie May and King Hodge told Cotter Arkansas police that two men believed to be neighbors disguised as negroes forced entry to their home and flogged them with hickory limbs. Threats of death kept them from reporting for nearly a month. Floyd the widower with three children lived with T F Farland on a farm ten miles north. Farland was away and his wife had left him in November after claiming intimacy with Floyd’s daughter.

In Mays Landing New Jersey the jury in the Lilliendahl murder trial remained deadlocked after more than 20 hours of deliberation.
