Retrial of Entrican Underway in Bastrop Case
The retrial of 30 year old Joe Entrican, a Bastrop paper mill employee, for the shooting of a Black mill worker last March entered its second day as a 12-man jury was completed. District Attorney Fred Fudickar began presenting witnesses after the defense fell ill delaying proceedings. Entrican previously faced an April trial for negligent homicide, which ended in mistrial when the jury could not reach a verdict. The victim, 25 year old William Craig, was killed by a bullet intended for another man with whom Entrican had argued at the time office. He died on the way to a hospital.
