Hay Barn Fire Destroys Structure at Louisiana Baptist Home Farm
A pre-dawn blaze at the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home farm six miles east of Monroe destroyed a 60 by 90 foot all steel hay barn built in 1967. About 15 000 bales of hay were in the major structure, with damages estimated around 30000 dollars, reported Supt. Wade B. East. The fire was noticed at about 15 minutes after midnight by a motorist along Highway 80 and Ouachita Parish Fire Department responders were notified. Most farm hay for beef and dairy herds was stored there.
