First air accident at Barksdale Army Airdrome kills Second Lieutenant Brittian H. Purser of Amite Louisiana. Lieutenant Cecil Darnell survives by leaping from his plane while Lieut Benjamin Kelsey leads a three plane formation during flight training. The collision occurred about 1,200 feet in the air, one and a half miles east of the wing operations building. Darnell parachuted to safety.
