Federal Agent Details Urschel Kidnapping Suspects
Texas August 21. Federal agent Blake says several confessions were obtained from suspects in Dallas in the Urschel kidnapping case. AKANA Arkansas August 21. Dr E L Beck a wealthy Texarkana surgeon was kidnapped from a Texarkana hospital and forced into a car with masked assailants. The car stalled on a road crossing and a passing train narrowly avoided disaster. Fingerprints on the car are the only clues besides Becks description of the two men. The pair made Beck blindfold himself with a handkerchief and threaten his money and car before escaping.

Sheriff deputies arrested Sam Brent at 112 Harrison Street on narcotics charges after a raid on a Harrison Street rooming house turned up five marijuana cigarettes. D E Givens, also of 112 Harrison, was jailed for selling whisky after exchanging whisky for a dollar. The incident followed complaints to the sheriff about narcotics and a deputy was offered whisky during the arrest. Possession and sale of marijuana cigarettes carry penalties of 50 to 1000 dollars and 30 days to one year in jail.

Four Die as Two Trucks Collide Near Wilmington
