Monroe Woman Crochets Pillowcases To Pay Street Assessment
Eighty three year old Mrs Allene Banister of 514 Oak St Monroe crochets colorfully figured pillowcases to pay a several thousand dollar street assessment after the city built near a new Government Center. She funds payments by selling the pillowcases while also delivering magazines to shut ins and giving talks on Christian education. She manages the Ouachita Valley Historical Museum at 707 St John St and financed its renovation with over 300 dollars. A new project on her drawing board is special tablecloths as Christmas gifts.
