Insane Patients Taken to Pineville Hospital
Seven or eight insane patients who were under sheriff supervision for months were moved to the Louisiana Hospital for the Insane. Deputies from the sheriff's office assisted. Dr McCormack Dies at 83 in Monroe Home
Dr J H McCormack age 83 died last evening at 8 45 at the home of his daughter Mrs Herbert Dickard in Monroe. Born in Irondale Missouri he moved to Monroe as a child and lived there most of his life. A Civil War physician who aided the Confederate army he also led civic work and served as first president of Southern Grocery Co and as receiver for the V S and P railway. He spent 30 years on the Monroe Building and Loan Association board and left seven children from his second marriage and three from his first. Funeral arrangements set for today from Mrs Dickard’s residence with burial in Catholic cemetery.
