Dr John N Thomas superintendent of the Louisiana Hospital for the Insane at Pineville visited Monroe and Ouachita Parish jail and said insane patients overrunting the jail would be cared for at Pineville. Eight patients will be sent tomorrow. Plans by J W Smith for new hospital buildings aim to relieve housing strain. Sheriff Arthur Grant accompanied the inspector on jail tour.

The United States Geological Survey reports 51,321,000 pounds of carbon black produced from natural gas in 1920, down slightly from 1919 as plants increased.
