Tax Voting For Schools Set Today

More than 15 000 voters may ballot today from 6 a m to 8 p m for school tax requests in Ouachita Parish and Monroe. The Ouachita Parish School Board seeks seven mills, two more than current funding since 1947. The Monroe City School Board requests twelve mills, five more than the current seven and adding the extra five. Officials downplay voter inconvenience.
