E A Conway Memorial Hospital to Open Tuesday
The facility will admit patients on a new charity ward staffed by six resident physicians and visiting surgeons. Admission requires a physician statement of need and parish welfare approval. Emergency care will be provided and, if necessary, patients may be transferred to Shreveport or New Orleans hospitals.

In the hospital a 24 by 24 foot refrigerating chamber in the autopsy room houses eight mortuary racks on retractable carriages. The walk encloses pipes that transfer steam to unit radiators.
