Paris Born Still Divided Talks Ended In Bonn Visit

President Charles de Gaulle and Chancellor Ludwig Erhard ended a two day West German visit with persistent gaps on European unity. A summit on a Common Market political conference was proposed but hinges on Paris Bonn concessions on agricultural subsidies. The six nation gathering would require consent from Italy Belgium Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

Elderly Couple Die In Area As Vehicles Crash

An elderly Arkansas couple, Jack Davis 70 and his wife of Rt. 1 Lake Village, Ark, died in a car-truck crash near Oak Grove at the intersection of Louisiana Highways 17 and 582. The Montgomery, Negro driver, 26, ran a stop sign and struck the Davis truck. Davis died en route to Oak Grove Hospital, his wife died at the scene. Montgomery and two children had minor injuries. Montgomery faced two counts of negligent homicide.

Marchers Tie Up Chicago Streets

Civil rights demonstrators defied Mayor Daley and police in downtown Chicago staging sit downs on State and Madison streets. Police arrested about 135 to 500 marchers, with 200 arrested in a prior day. four protesters were dragged from vans. Flood Toll Climbs in Sanderson Texas Disaster
