Barham to become Louisiana Supreme Court associate justice

Four-Year-Old Girl Killed by Great Dane in Fairyland

In Fairyland Georgia a 175-pound Great Dane named Scarlet killed four year old Darla Anne Harper while she played in the front yard. She died at Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga from multiple bites to the head and stomach after being chased from the yard by her mother.

U S Carrier Catches Fire In Japan

A fire aboard the U S aircraft carrier Kearsarge at Sasebo port in southern Japan killed three crewmen, according to U S Navy sources. The ship remained burning as officials at Yokosuka base reported no further details. The carrier, an antisubmarine aircraft ship, has been off Vietnam with its postal office serving troops aboard multiple ships.

Irishman 100-Year-Old Receives Pacemaker in California

Hugh Chambers Stewart, born September 5 1866 in Dromore Ireland, received Huntington Memorial Hospital the Pacemaker to regulate his heartbeat. The 100 year old patient was hospitalized since December 10 after a fainting spell and is described as doing fine in intensive care.
