Bastrop Man Killed In U S 165 Collision Near Monroe
A Bastrop resident, Carlton Leroy Kelly, 22, was killed in a two car head on crash 6.2 miles south of Monroe on U S 165 about 3 am in rain. William Hammett 33 of West Monroe and Wesley Jackson 53 of Alexandria were injured and hospitalized in fair condition. Kelly died at the scene and was taken to Bastrop funeral home. The crash also involved a second fatality earlier in the week near Glenmora on the same highway.
