Animal is Victim in Area Traffic Mishaps
Four persons were injured in several traffic incidents yesterday in Monroe and area. An animal owned by Bud Hanna was killed when a car left Highway 11 and County Trunk. Mrs Flossie East was hospitalized for contusions after a collision at Ninth Street and 20th Avenue. Three others, including Charles Scace and Walter Donovan, sustained non life threatening injuries in separate crashes.

FFA Youth Wins National Star Dairy Farmer Award
James Salesman of Monroe, Iowa, named National FFA Star Dairy Farmer at the National Dairy Cattle Congress in Waterloo. He received a plaque and $250, with praise from FFA advisor Kenneth C. Allen and national VP Jim Stitzlein. Salesman, 19, from Argyle, studied at Platteville State University and runs 21 registered Holsteins with high production.
