Goetz Theaters Co announces purchase of a ten acre tract on Freeport road highway 69 for a new drive in outdoor theater. The site three fourths mile south of city limits, on east side of highway just north of R L Rote farm, 700 foot frontage 623 foot depth. Robert W Goetz says plans call for 400 car capacity with work to start this fall. Hugo Vogel Milwaukee contractor will be the builder. A five month operation is planned during the outdoor season with Chalet theater operation suspended.

Air show thrills draw four thousand to Badger field
A crowd of about 4000 watched the Greater Midwest airshow at Badger flying field with 3000 paid admissions and 1000 on surrounding highways. Howard Libersky opened by climbing to 10000 feet for tail spins, followed by smoke marked stunts, loops, hammer head turns, and inverted flights. Capt Ray Henry performed loops and ribbon dives while Lowell White landed from an 8 foot square airport on a station wagon. A spectator breached the rope line and the show mocked how not to fly. Ray Timm rode the wing of Henry’s plane and fell from the aircraft as the American flag unfurled from his parachute.

Brush Creek Factory Starts Swiss Output
The remodeled Brush Creek factory near Orangeville began Swiss cheese production today with Milo Dietmaier, ex Beck factory Winslow, as maker. The co op plant started 1908 and produced Swiss earlier, suspended, then resumed after fifteen years making limburger and American. Six kettles installed. twelve patrons deliver to the plant. President Will Babler and secretary treasurer Harry Ammans.

Death of Henry Aebly Sr. Following Truck Accident
Henry Aebly Sr. 76 of Monroe township died Saturday afternoon in St. Clare hospital from injuries suffered last Monday when struck by a small truck driven by Joyce Berg Moen of Argyle. Aebly, a Green county highway employee, was assessing gravel for an Adams road project. Coroner Herman A. Stuessy planned to review an official report before deciding on further investigation. Aebly, born February 23 1874 in Bilten Switzerland, immigrated in 1895 and leaves four daughters two sons and several siblings. The body will be at the home until 10 am tomorrow then to St Johns Church for 1:30 pm services. burial in Greenwood cemetery.

New Jersey Battleship to Return to Active Duty
The 45000 ton battleship New Jersey is being de mothballed for return to the active fleet. She will be the second battleship in operation alongside her sister ship Missouri in the far east. Two other 45000 ton battleships remain in reserve: Wisconsin at Norfolk and Iowa at San Francisco. De mothballing began at Brooklyn Navy Yard where she was stored. Commissioned soon after Iowa in May 1943, both New Jersey and Wisconsin were withdrawn from active service in December 1947.

Carlton Zentner Wins Fair Contest at New Glarus School Fair

Missing Skymaster Plane Found on Vatnajokull Glacier
An Icelandic Skymaster airliner that vanished last Thursday night near Reykjavik was located today on the Vatnajokull glacier. All seven crew members are reported alive, and the plane was en route to New York with ten dogs in the cargo. Search planes had scoured the area for days.
