Wisconsin dairymen urged to consider alternative co op merger plan
In Baraboo and Reedsburg area meetings Wisconsin dairy farmers from up to 60 counties were urged to pursue an alternative to the Midwest Cooperative proposal. Wisconsin Dairies Cooperative proposed merging with neighboring co ops to form a large system. Williams said the plan is in planning. the Lake to Lake Cooperative attended but did not state its reaction. Delegates supported mergers with neighbors and a study of consolidating milk marketing orders from Wisconsin to Texas. A two cent per hundred pounds promotion fund was voted down last year.
