Area Woman Hurt In One Vehicle Crash

Marie Ptak, 23, Route 1 Monticello, was treated at St. Clare Hospital after a late night single vehicle crash two miles southeast of New Glarus. She suffers facial cuts and is reported in good condition.

Entries Sought For Bike Rally at Monroe Fairgrounds

Rotary club leaders Don Ogden and Herbert T. Johnson chair a bike rally on September 20 at Monroe Fairgrounds starting 1 30 PM with races and skill tests for boys and girls aged 10 to 15. Entry blanks due by September 17 at 4 PM with no entry fee. Separate boys and girls events in two age groups 10 to 12 and 13 to 15.

Swedish film crew shoots in Milton for The Emigrants

Swedish producer Bengt Forslund brings 45 people to Milton Wisconsin to film scenes for The Emigrants and The I by Wilhelm Moberg. Max Von Sydow and Liv Ullman star as Swedish brothers who migrate to America 1850s. The 1850s Minnesota setting was deemed better for Milton locales. Local fire department aided a rain scene and 12 year old Laura McMillan acted as babe in arms during filming. Other towns in area along with Milton were visited for additional shoots before mid October wrap.

Miller Youth Hurt in Crash

Robert Miller a 16 year old Madison youth formerly of Monroe is listed in critical condition at Madison General Hospital after a car driven by Souths Nortel lone lost control and overturned multiple times. Four friends were in the vehicle none reported in intensive care though injuries include a basal skull fracture and head injuries. The Miller family resides at 2834 Grandview Blvd Madison.

Farmers Satisfied With Milk Price Says Wisconsin Co op Leader

ANTIGO AP The president of Pure Milk Products Co operative of Fond du Lac says farmers are satisfied with milk prices and many do not want higher prices. Speaking at Antigo Wittenberg dairy bargaining meeting he warned of a flooded market as grade B producers switch to grade A. He urged co operatives to mature and unite before merger talks with Texas or Kansas.

War in Brief resumes B52 bombing after halt

In South Vietnam Nixon ordered a 36 hour pause but bombing missions resumed. A military spokesman said operations are back to normal for now. In Da Nang, eighteen civilians were wounded by an enemy mortar attack on a refugee camp at Dien Ban ten miles south of the city.
