Kennedy Firm Wins Highway 69 Bypass Bid

Bids on the Highway 69 bypass were opened by the State Highway Commission in Madison with William J. Kennedy and Sons of Janesville submitting the low bid of 424000. The project total stays under the 515000 city limit and construction begins October 15 with completion by August 1968. The city covers 15 percent plus sewer and land costs while the state pays 85 percent. The project covers 1.409 miles of relocation on the west side of Monroe from the current Highway 69 south to Highway 11 north, including Behring Motors to 21st Street segment.

Mrs. Miller 86 dies after cerebral hemorrhage in Brodhead

Mrs. Arthur L. Miller 86, widow of former County Board member, died at 3 15 this morning in St. Clare Hospital after hospitalization since Saturday following a cerebral hemorrhage. She lived on County Trunk E between Albany and Brodhead in the Decatur home. Funeral services set for Saturday at Newcomer Funeral Home Brodhead with Rev. David W.
