Auto Blaze Near Monroe Ties Up Highway 59
Firemen answered a call to a car fire on Highway 59 about seven miles from Monroe yesterday afternoon. The left front wheel overheated and burst into flame, but Monroe volunteers arrived after the fire had been extinguished. Separately, Senator Gaylord Nelson, D Wis, returned to his Washington office after two weeks at the U S Naval Hospital Bethesda Md for a respiratory ailment and plans to return to Wisconsin Monday.

Stanley Holliday Dies at 76 in Monticello
Stanley R. Holliday, 76, of Monticello died at 6:30 p.m. Friday in St. Clair Hospital after admission on Aug. 29. A longtime Madison resident, he had recently lived in Monticello. He married Emma Krueger on Aug. 17, 1915. she died Dec. 22, 1963. Survivors include his son Frank of Madison and two grandchildren. Funeral may be Tuesday at Gunderson Funeral Home with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park after visiting hours Monday.
