Death of E R Kundert Contractor at 51

Services for Ernest R Kundert 51 of 1615 22nd Avenue will be held at Shriner Neushwander funeral home at 1 30 p m Saturday. He died at St Clare hospital after three weeks of hospitalization and 11 years of illness. He was born Sept 3 1902 in Jefferson Township and married Ellen Seyler Nov 5 1927 at Rockford. He leaves a widow a daughter Betty four sisters and a brother. Burial in Greenwood cemetery.

Salvation Army drive under way with extended attendance

Local Chairman Herman A. Stuessy reported many more workers who agreed to serve could not attend as the drive runs to November 8. Three Groups Plan Monroe Halloween Parade and Parties

Three groups join Monroe children for a Halloween parade and evening activities. The event runs tomorrow night from 6 30 p m starting behind Monroe High School, proceeding along 17th Avenue around the square, then back to the school for entertainment and treats. Judges at 17th Avenue and 11th Street will award costumes after viewing the parade twice.
