A former Monroe businessman Robert A. Stocker Jr. 56 of 719 2nd Ave. died suddenly at 10 30 a m Oct 22 from a heart attack. He had a long heart condition, retired from Stocker Body Snap, worked as bailiff for Green County Circuit Court, and was active in St Victor's Church and Monroe fire department. Surviving: widow Eleanor Strohecker Stocker seven children mother Mrs Robert Stocker Sr brother John sister Mrs Ernst Ringgenberg and three grandchildren. Burial at Calvary Cemetery with services Oct 25. He attended Stockton High School and was married in Freeport. He enjoyed accordion playing.

Ford UAW strike nears end with ratification vote
UAW top officials plan a ratification vote on a Ford contract that could cost Ford nearly a billion dollars over three years.
