Seven Men Fined On Meat Charges In Wisconsin Case
Seven men admitted illegal meat traffic and were fined a total of 6350 by Federal Judge Robert Tehan. Otto Knop of Antigo Sausage Co. received six months and 500 dollars on four counts including buying ungraded beef and horsemeat at OPS ceilings. Harley Garrigan, Lena, faced 2000 dollars and two one year terms for transporting ungraded beef across the state line and conspiring to deliver cattle to James Wright. James Garrigan and Wright received 2000 dollars and six month terms respectively. Weston Paquette and Elmer Strom, Willard Paugh, Alvin Winans faced smaller fines for selling ungraded beef and related offenses.
