Sixth Grade Students Tour Capitol With State Dignitaries
More than 230 Monroe School District sixth graders toured Madison visiting the Capitol and fish hatchery hosted by the Lions Club. The group met Gov Knowles Secretary of State Zimmerman Sen Roseleip Assemblyman Galli and Gov Rockefeller of New York. A picnic at Vilas Park followed with milk and ice cream. Two minor mishaps occurred when David Waage fainted and Curtis Phillips fell injuring his head but both recovered. An escort from Green and Dane Counties guided the caravan to the city limits.

Students Ready For Homecoming at Monroe High
Excitement builds as Monroe High students await Holyoke Field events tonight during the Homecoming game against Sun Prairie. Homecoming queen Pat Reichert will be crowned by co captains Jim Dearth and Dick Swiggum with Linda Holmes and Davie Kuban as court. A Homecoming parade from the high school lot to the square is set for this afternoon and tomorrow night the M Room hosts the annual dance featuring Lou Rimmele and his band from Janesville. Alumni and locals are invited to join.
