John P Derning Dies in Brodhead at 65

Green County attorney John P. Derning 65 died suddenly of a heart attack at his Brodhead home. A 38 year lawyer and 1955 Green County Court judgeship candidate, he was a Chicago native with deep local ties and extensive bar and civic memberships. His survivors include a wife Carrie, a son and a daughter, six grandchildren, and four brothers. Funeral services set for Friday at St. Rose Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Albert T. Lee Dies at 83 in Beloit

Albert T. Lee, 83, of Beloit, died at 5:25 this morning at St. Clare hospital where he had been admitted yesterday as a medical patient. Survivors include his wife of Beloit. Arrangements are pending at Rosman Uehling Kinzer Funeral Home Beloit.

Nomads Set To Perform On Square In Moonlight Madness

Monroe celebrates Moonlight Madness with a parade led by Parade Marshall J T Duke Etter on fire engine. New car dealers and Yester Year Car Club join, plus Monroe High pep band and merchants. The event runs 7 30 p m to 11 p m with a Nomads 10 minute show at 8 30 p m and antique and new cars displayed around the square.

Three Year Old Boy Dies On Farm Tractor Ride

David John Asleson a three year old boy died of head injuries after a fall from a tractor on the family farm near Ripon. He was riding with grandfather Marvin Asleson and died at Berlin hospital. Authorities identified him as son of Mr and Mrs Clarence Asleson.

Monroe High selects 1965 Homecoming court

The Monroe High School football squad announces the 1965 Homecoming court with queen Patrica Reichert and attendants Linda Holmes and Diane Kuban. Festivities begin Friday with Color Day and a pep rally, parade, and a 7:45 p.m. game against Sun Prairie, followed by a halftime crowning and concert by Wilhelm von Boomblebaum. Saturday features a Homecoming dance in the M Room with Lou Rimmele and his band, with alumni and locals invited.

City County Plan To Share Monroe Airport Explored

Green County supervisors consider allowing the county a one half interest in Monroe Airport operation. Alderman Fred Simpson outlined a tentative plan including shared costs and a joint city county commission to manage policies. Marie Rahberger Leads Activities at Monroe Manor Nursing Home

The Monroe Manor Nursing Home names Marie Rahberger of Monroe as head of recreational activities and occupational therapy. Daily events include movies, bingo, cards, crafts, and group games aimed at rehabilitation, dignity, independence, and social well being. An upright piano, sewing machines, nylon stockings, a record player, used cards, and hymnals are requested to support therapeutic programs and community involvement.

John Reynolds Appointed Judge

Milwaukee former Governor John W. Reynolds said he feels deeply grateful for President Johnsons confidence in naming him U S Judge for Wisconsin eastern district. Reynolds, 44, a Democrat longtime ally of Kennedy, rose to state attorney general in 1958 and governor in 1962 before losing to Warren Knowles in 1964.

Reapportionment Plan Narrowly Passes Green County Board

The Green County Board approved Plan 1 reducing supervisors from 34 to 31 by a 28 to 6 vote in a courthouse session. Joseph D. Viney outlined why the plan provides more manpower and flexibility, noting future state Supreme Court scrutiny and a 1970 recertification.
