John P Derning Dies in Brodhead at 65
Green County attorney John P. Derning 65 died suddenly of a heart attack at his Brodhead home. A 38 year lawyer and 1955 Green County Court judgeship candidate, he was a Chicago native with deep local ties and extensive bar and civic memberships. His survivors include a wife Carrie, a son and a daughter, six grandchildren, and four brothers. Funeral services set for Friday at St. Rose Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

David John Asleson a three year old boy died of head injuries after a fall from a tractor on the family farm near Ripon. He was riding with grandfather Marvin Asleson and died at Berlin hospital. Authorities identified him as son of Mr and Mrs Clarence Asleson.
