Firefighters from Rockford and two suburbs gained control of a blaze that damaged a five story warehouse housing about a dozen manufacturers. The Thomas Trading building was struck near midnight and caused an estimated 750000 dollars in damage. Arthur L. Thomas owned the structure.

Eight major goals for 1965 are outlined by the Green County Conservation League in its annual report. Enlarge Zanders Lake to 130 acres, fence and stabilize streams at Bushnell Creek and Digman Creek Smocks Cave, expand wildlife cover with seedlings, and stock bass and pan fish in county streams.
