Auxiliary at Hospital Closes Community Coffee Bar
St. Clare hospital auxiliary voted to close the hospital coffee bar after the hospital opened its own daily bar from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The group will instead support the hospital cafe by baking cookies and treats. In 1953 the auxiliary served 2200 cups of coffee and 36 pounds of cookies to patients and relatives.

Monroe Teens Attend National Club Congress Demo

Truckers Escape Death in Orfordville Crash
A semi-trailer loaded with eight tons of sheet steel crashed two miles north of Orfordville on Highway 13 and caught fire. Driver Rodney Anderson and passenger Ermil Morris of Algonquin Illinois survived with no injuries after escaping as the cab rolled, the windshield was crushed, and flames erupted. Orfordville firefighters put out the blaze.
