Regents defend salary pact for UW president

Former board of regents defended a life time salary agreement for University of Wisconsin President John C. Weaver. Governor Lucey urged reconsideration and public disclosure of terms while regents cited prior publication and concerns raised during Weaver's hiring. Regent Pelisek said retirement benefits were a consideration and Ziegler indicated no special meeting would occur.

Hijacked TWA jet bound for Havana from Tampa
