Inmates to face charges over Green Bay reform riot
At Green Bay State Reformatory three inmates were ordered to face charges after a 90 minute Friday riot. Warden Quatsoe cited written statements detailing eight inmates roles in the disturbance which damaged property estimated at 250000 dollars. Gaddis and Jones were seen striking guard captain John McLimans who was hospitalized along with three inmates.

Nafziger to be honored by Sigma Delta Chi in 1971
Ralph Nafziger retired director of the University of Wisconsin School of Journalism will receive Sigma Delta Chi’s distinguished teaching and a award for 1971. Madison Highway Division HQ Fire Causes Five-Oh Thousand Damage

Committee to Seek Tax Levy Cuts for Green County Budget

Firemen Contain Blaze on Dan Benkert’s Corn Combine
Monroe Volunteer Firemen answered at 9 20 a m to Harrison Buttenhoff farm in Sylvester Township where Dan Benkert Rt 4 was operating a four row corn implement. The fire spread to the enclosed cab causing heavy damage to the cab seat and wiring. Firefighters returned to quarters at 10 20 a m eight miles northeast of Monroe.

First big test for pay board contract in rail unions
The railroad signalmen's union announced a tentative 42 month contract likely to test Pay Board wage guidelines after the freeze.
