Fourteen Monroe FFA members under adviser Kenneth Co. Allen completed the fifth Safe Corn Harvest program in cooperation with Randall Swanson of the University of Wisconsin. Teams surveyed Monroe farmers on fire extinguishers and first aid kits while scoring safety practices. many farms rated excellent and all are urged to adopt safety features.

City to Receive 104000 Credit in Property Tax Relief
Monroe will receive 104266.40 as a property tax credit to relieve real estate taxes. The State Department of Taxation sent the credit to over 1,800 Wisconsin municipalities for 1962 taxes. Commissioner John A. Gronouski announced a total credit of 50,375,175 for cities villages and towns with relief applied to each tax bill in proportion to assessed value.
