Fatal Crash Kills Janesville Woman and Injures Others
A 33 year old Janesville woman, Mrs. Otto Ames, died on the way to St. Clare hospital after a collision on County Trunk T near Highway 59. Her son James, 2, and two others were injured. Mrs. Clarence Shaw of Harvard, Ill., hospitalized with scalp lacerations and slight concussion. Funeral services set for Friday at 3 p.m. at Overton funeral home. A separate accident on County Trunk S left Gordon R. West 21 with a damaged car after he apparently fell asleep. Intersections at 10th Street and 19th Avenue involved Yvonne Olson and Royletta Dickson in another collision with minor damage.

Farm Child Killed In Combine Accident At Genoa City
Three year old Robert Robers of a Kenosha County farm near Genoa City fell from the seat of a loading combine into the gears. He was riding with his mother when the accident occurred Tuesday authorities said.

Tractor Fire Injures Monticello Farmer Harris Wittenwyler
Harris Wittenwyler, 39, suffered serious burns when a tractor caught fire while he was refueling two miles southeast of Monticello. He was not smoking and the motor was off, with possible gasoline spilling onto hot wires. Fire crews walked to the farm and extinguished the blaze on the tractor and a nearby light pole.

Engineer Doubts Highway Bypass Will Be Approved

Louis R. Wolleson said the Alvin F. Rote Co. must send remodeling plans to the state Department of Public Welfare for approval before the board can act. Gibbons Buys Monticello Casino from Elliott widow
W R Gibbons announced the purchase of the Monticello Casino hotel from Christine Elliott widow of the operator. Elliott had run the property for years and died October 8 at St Claire hospital after surgery. Gibbons, a Monroe native, has worked at Maple Grove Inn for five years.
