Dr Irving R Schoonmaker native of Brodhead Wis. is believed to be Philadelphia's oldest physician. A Jefferson Medical College 1884 graduate, he practiced across Ulster Pa and Sayer Pa before moving to Philadelphia in 1907. He later served at Philadelphia General Hospital and was head of medical services at Children’s Hospital. Now confined to his home at 1425 E Van Kirk St he still reads medical journals and keeps up with the field.
