Destructive Midwest Storm Kills Fisherman in Minnesota
A second destructive hail and rain storm swept southern Minnesota killing one man. John Huberty, 37, of Le Sueur, was struck by lightning while fishing from a boat with three companions. The storm also stripped foliage, destroyed crops, and flooded fields and highways.

Truck Fire Destroys 21000 Pounds Of Kraft Cheese
A truck carrying Kraft Cheese from Monroe to Chicago caught fire two miles south of Orangeville at midnight. 21000 pounds of Swiss cheese were lost as flames and smoke spread, blocking traffic for hours.
