Clean Desk Fills Mind With Fearful Memory
HAL Boyle writes that a bare desk triggers a sense of exposure and loneliness after decades of clutter. A coworker cleans the pile in five hours, leaving the writer fearful yet hopeful as a new layer of debris grows, while opponents fear a national monument by desk. A separate note reports an Antarctic mountain named after Josephine Ford, daughter of Edsel Ford, discovered in 1930 by Adm. Byrd aboard the Josephine Ford.
