June Dairy Month Recipe Contest Opens with Dairy Salads

The Hill family of ten lost their two story rental near Warren when an oil furnace explosion ignited the home, leaving them homeless with only the clothes they wore. They are staying with relatives in Apple River and donations of clothing and household items are sought at Apple River Motor Co. and with Walter Schuepp in Monroe. Ray Hill Jr., a Vietnam veteran on leave, is among the children aged 3 to 14, plus a 21 year old son.

The first of two student award assemblies at Monroe High School honored Christine Schuepp as the UW Alumni scholarship recipient. Milwaukee remembers Helen Cromell known as Dirty Helen who ran the Sun Flower Inn for 34 years on Milwaukee’s near West Side. She died at 83 after a blood clot while living in a nursing center. born in Noblesville Indiana, she will be buried there.
