Kidnapper Shot Dead After Escape Attempt in Pennsylvania
In Shade Gap a 44 year old kidnapper, William Diller Hollenbaugh, was killed after wounding a deputy and attempting to flee in a deputy’s car. He had previously killed a pursuing FBI agent and took a 17 year old girl, Peggy Ann Brodnick, as hostage. The manhunt spanned the Tuscarora Mountains north of Harrisburg. The girl escaped unharmed. Larry Rubeck, farm owner’s son, fired the fatal shot.
