State's Traffic Toll Reaches 344 After Weekend Deaths
Thirteen people died on Wisconsin highways over the weekend, raising the toll to 344 for the year. The victims include Dana Howe, 4, of La Crosse. John Farrow, 27, of Superior. William Wentz, 60, of Milwaukee. Gary Wald, 24, of Elk Mound. Glenn Telchuk, 16, of Chicago. Joseph La Rock, 58, of Kekena. John Bottoms, 19, of Havard Ill.. Richard McGregor, 16, of Bancroft. Farm Couple Found Slain in Jefferson County
Jefferson County farmer Roland Krueger, 45, and his wife were found shot to death five miles south of Waterloo on their farm. Their son, 16, said the couple left Saturday with an unfamiliar couple in a late model car. Roland lay in a shallow grave near a cattle pen. his wife was tucked under straw bales in the barn.

Ripon's Old Red Barn Theater Destroyed by Fire
A spectacular blaze destroyed the Old Red Barn, a frame theater on Ripon College campus. Officials estimated a 153000 loss as flames shot high and windows broke in adjacent dormitories. The 600 seat theater, acquired from the Army five years ago, was empty when the fire started Saturday night.

In Michigan City Ind fire hoses were used to disperse about 200 Negro youths at an informal lakeside beach party. Detective Captain Ralph E Stormer said the water from a couple of squirts stopped the brawl quickly. The youths were reported to come from the Chicago suburbs of Moor and Harvey.

Monroe ponce investigated a two car crash at the intersection of 13th street and 22nd avenue on Saturday night. The four children of Julius J Panoske were treated for cuts and bruises. The other driver was Orville August Boeck of 2547 13th street. neither driver was hurt. In a second weekend mishap, a car driven by Edward K Untersee struck a parked car belonging to Leora A Grass in Warren, at 7 38 p m in the 1000 block of 16th avenue.
