Emil Gustav Fritsch 76 of Clarno Township dies after a yearlong illness. Born May 24, 1889 in Jordan Township he lived on the Clarno home farm 72 years. He married Bertha Trumpy Jan 21 1914. they celebrated their 50th anniversary. Survived by wife two daughters Lois and Thelma Ausmus a son Swiss cattle three grandchildren four sisters and three brothers. Member of Clarno Zion EUB Church and Brown Swiss Breeder Association for over 50 years. Funeral tomorrow at 2 p.m. Newcomer Monroe. burial Greenwood Monroe.

Promenade Discusses Nurses Training Program in Blanchardville
The Green County 40 and 8 group held a May Promenade at Dobsons Blanchardville to discuss a nurses training program. Jacob Bruni of New Glarus described applications from high school graduates for a $500 scholarship and noted time remains to apply. The winner will be named at the June meeting at Windy Acres Golf Club, with the selection committee led by Bruni and including Floyd Pyle Don Bloom Edward Niffenegger and Cloyance Zentner. New officers will be announced at June’s meeting after adjournment for lunch.

Sgt. Robert Kuster has returned from ten months in Viet Nam to visit his wife and four children in Monroe. He leaves for Washington to receive an American Helicopter Association award, then returns for a two week stint before resuming duty in Viet Nam. Kuster, a veteran of World War II and Korea, has served with Co. B and is now with the 1st and 9th Air Cavalry Division.

Thirty high school juniors and seniors were chosen for a new Exchange group with four alternates named. Connetquot High School in Bohemia will host Monroe group visitors the week of April 10, 1967, while Connetquot students plan to visit New York during the week of November 14. Plans for the annual Art Show and Spring Band Concert unfold this Sunday in Argyle.
