Distinguished alumnus Isan Stuessy among UW Platteville honorees
Former Monroe resident Isan Willis Stuessy, a 1940 UW Madison education graduate now living in Platteville, is one of three alumni named as Distinguished Alumnus at UW Platteville. A longtime teacher and former alumni secretary, she helped introduce anthropology at the university and earned NSF funds for studies at Colorado Boulder.

Rev. and Mrs. Andrew Hegre of Beloit present slides and talk on Norway history, with the Adams Norwegian Choir and Olga Vinger performing. Devotions led by Mrs. Ruth Moen. welcome by Mrs. Robert Emberson. Ushers are Mrs. Gunnar Bertilrud and Mrs. Andrew Bertilrud. A lunch of Norwegian delicacies follows. tickets are 1.50 adults 0.75 children under ten.

The Board reviewed March and April receipts and disbursements and directed the treasurer to deduct payments to non-regular insurance programs from individual teachers’ payrolls. Motions approved bills 5475 through 5590 with exceptions, to fund speech therapy and summer programs, and to expand vocational courses and guidance services.
