Monroe district seeks bond for high and junior high additions
Monroe district electors vote on a 975000 bond May 22 to finance a senior high addition of about 370000 and a junior high addition of 425000 plus 180000 for equipment and contingencies. The plan adds 10 new teaching posts, a study hall, extra offices, and a 250 seat lecture room, with Weiler and Strang and Associates of Madison as architects.

Nine Die in Toledo Maumee Chemical Plant Blast
Firemen probed charred debris at the Maumee Chemical Co plant after an explosion on Thursday killed at least nine workers and left 46 injured. One body remained unaccounted, possibly in the wreckage. The three story plant near downtown Toledo sent multicolored smoke and glass litter across streets.

Fish Pond To Open Tomorrow For Children Anglers
Ray L Beckman president of the Green County Conservation League announced the children's fish pond northeast of the city will open tomorrow. Young anglers aged five to fourteen may catch pan fish, with 1 500 stocked by the Wisconsin Conservation Department earlier this week. Angling is allowed daily from sunrise to sunset. The pond called Benketts pond is run by the league in cooperation with the conservation department. Children under five must be accompanied by a parent to fish.
